Uses Cold Brew Concentrate (Plain, No Protein) — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.
Ingredients & steps
StandardIngredients
- 4oz Cold Brew Concentrate (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 tbsp Toasted Marshmallow Syrup (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 2 weeks in the fridge)
- 2oz cold heavy cream (36%+ milkfat)
- 2oz cold whole milk (or milk alternative)
- Ice (enough to fill a 16oz glass)
Steps
- 1.Make a batch of Toasted Marshmallow Syrup ahead of time if you haven't already -- it's a once-every-couple-weeks step, not a per-drink one.
- 2.Fill a 16oz glass with ice.
- 3.Pour 4oz cold brew concentrate over the ice, then stir in 2 tbsp of the toasted marshmallow syrup until dissolved.
- 4.In a separate small cup or jar, whisk together 2oz cold heavy cream and 2oz cold whole milk -- this is the light sweet cream blend. It should look just barely thickened, not whipped.
- 5.Pour the cream blend over the top and stir it all the way through, 2-3 stirs -- this is a mixed-in cream, not a floated cold foam. Serve immediately with a straw.

Calorie figures on this page are estimates based on typical ingredient values, not a lab analysis of your exact batch — they'll shift with the brand of milk, syrup, or protein powder you actually use. Toasted marshmallow cream cold brew is a real, currently-running Chick-fil-A item — cold brew, a toasted marshmallow syrup, and their own sweet cream blend, poured over ice. This is our homemade version, built from the same idea but with a genuinely broiled-marshmallow syrup and no bottled syrup pump at all.
What This Recipe Is (and Isn’t)
This isn’t a “how to order it” page — we’re not walking through a chain’s cup-modification steps. It’s the honest homemade build: a real cold brew concentrate, a syrup we broil ourselves from actual marshmallows, and a light sweet cream blend stirred through, not floated on top the way a whipped cold foam is. If you want the syrup on its own, see Toasted Marshmallow Syrup for the full broiling method and its genuinely unusual “firms up like a soft gel in the fridge” quirk.
Building the Drink
- Fill a 16oz glass with ice and pour 4oz Cold Brew Concentrate over it, then stir in 2 tbsp toasted marshmallow syrup until dissolved.
- Separately, whisk 2oz cold heavy cream with 2oz cold whole milk — just enough to loosely combine, not whip. This is a poured sweet cream, not a foam.
- Pour the cream blend over the top and stir it through completely. Serve immediately.
Savings per drink: about $2.98, and 229 fewer calories (44% less) than Chick-fil-A’s own published nutrition figures for this drink (520 cal, 22g fat, 75g carb, 9g protein per chick-fil-a.com; price is representative — Chick-fil-A doesn’t publish exact prices, and 2026 menu-price trackers put Cream Cold Brew flavors in roughly the $3.65-$4.65 medium range).
Why this beats a “use fewer pumps” hack, not just a full-price order. Chick-fil-A’s own ingredient list for this drink shows a “milkshake base” made from whole milk, cream, sugar, and whey powder, stabilized with guar gum and carrageenan — that sweetened, stabilized cream base is most of the drink’s calories, not the flavor syrup pump. Ordering it with fewer pumps trims some sugar from the syrup, but the sweetened, stabilized cream base underneath is unchanged either way. Skipping the bottled syrup and building a lighter cream blend from scratch — real heavy cream and whole milk, no added sugar, no gums — is what actually moves the number as much as it does here.
Assumptions: cold brew concentrate at grocery-bean pricing (see the concentrate recipe), standard grocery heavy whipping cream (~$4.29/pint) and Kirkland Signature Organic A2 Whole Milk ($0.60/cup, this site’s default). At 5 of these a week over the site’s standard 48-week year (240 drinks), that’s roughly $715/year saved against Chick-fil-A’s own medium pricing.
Swaps & Notes
- Want it dairy-free? Swap the whole milk for oat or almond milk in the cream blend — the heavy cream is what gives this its body, so a full dairy-free version needs a full-fat coconut cream in its place, which changes the math; see Best Milk for Coffee if you’re exploring options.
- No broiler for the syrup yet? The Toasted Marshmallow Syrup recipe covers the method in full, including what to do if it firms up in the jar.
- Want it lower-calorie or lower-sugar? See our Sugar-Free tier. Want it built from whole-food ingredients only, no marshmallows at all? See the Ingredient-Honest tier — worth reading its honest note on the tradeoff that comes with that swap.
- Want an actual toasted marshmallow on top, not just the syrup? Broil 1-2 whole mini marshmallows for 30-90 seconds until deeply golden and set them on top of the finished drink, same real technique as the syrup itself — see our plating guide for the full method and timing.

FAQ
Is this the same as Chick-fil-A’s Toasted Marshmallow Cream Cold Brew?
Same idea — cold brew, a toasted marshmallow flavor, and a sweet cream — built from scratch with real broiled marshmallows and a simple cream-and-milk blend instead of a bottled syrup and a stabilized shake base.
Why pour the cream in instead of floating it like a cold foam?
Chick-fil-A’s version (and the one Troy’s original reference pulled from) mixes the cream through the drink rather than topping it as a floating foam. Whisking cream and milk together loosely and stirring it in gets that same mixed-through texture — a whipped cold foam like our Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam is a genuinely different topping, meant to float and be sipped through.
Is toasted marshmallow a permanent flavor here, even though it’s limited-time at chains?
Yes — this recipe and its syrup aren’t tied to any chain’s seasonal calendar. Make the syrup whenever you want the flavor.
