    Churro Cold Brew

The BYOB Team15 min1 drink (from a batch of Churro Syrup that makes about 12 servings)$1.18/drink310 cal/drink

Uses Cold Brew Concentrate (Plain, No Protein) — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.

    Ingredients & steps

    Standard

    Ingredients

    • 4oz Cold Brew Concentrate (homemade or store-bought)
    • 2 tbsp Churro Syrup (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 2 weeks in the fridge)
    • 2oz cold heavy cream (36%+ milkfat)
    • 2oz cold whole milk (or milk alternative)
    • Ice (enough to fill a 16oz glass)
    • Optional: a cinnamon-sugar rim (see the syrup recipe's rim garnish)

    Steps

    1. 1.Make a batch of Churro Syrup ahead of time if you haven't already -- it's a once-every-couple-weeks step, not a per-drink one.
    2. 2.If you want the rim, wet the glass edge and roll it in the cinnamon-sugar mix from the syrup recipe before adding anything else.
    3. 3.Fill the glass with ice.
    4. 4.Pour 4oz cold brew concentrate over the ice, then stir in 2 tbsp of the churro syrup until dissolved.
    5. 5.In a separate small cup or jar, whisk together 2oz cold heavy cream and 2oz cold whole milk -- this is the light sweet cream blend. It should look just barely thickened, not whipped.
    6. 6.Pour the cream blend over the top and stir it all the way through, 2-3 stirs -- this is a mixed-in cream, not a floated cold foam. Serve immediately with a straw.

This is the cold brew side of the same chain signal behind our Iced Churro Latte — Tim Hortons runs a Caramel Churro Cold Brew alongside its iced latte and Capp, and Caribou’s Cinnamon Sugar Nitro High Rise is the same idea with a nitro charge instead of a stirred-in cream. This build keeps it simple: Cold Brew Concentrate, the same heavy-cinnamon Churro Syrup behind the latte, and a poured (not floated) sweet cream blend.

    Building the Drink

    1. If you want the cinnamon-sugar rim, wet the glass edge and roll it in the mix from the syrup recipe before adding ice.
    2. Fill the glass with ice and pour 4oz Cold Brew Concentrate over it, then stir in 2 tbsp churro syrup until dissolved.
    3. Separately, whisk 2oz cold heavy cream with 2oz cold whole milk until just loosely combined.
    4. Pour the cream blend over the top and stir it all the way through. Serve immediately.
Chain Café Cinnamon Sugar Cold Brew vs. This Version
    Chain café cinnamon-sugar/churro cold brew~$6.50
    Home Churro Cold Brew~$1.18

Savings per drink: about $5.32. Assumptions: cold brew concentrate at grocery-bean pricing, standard grocery heavy whipping cream (~$4.29/pint), and Kirkland Signature Organic A2 Whole Milk ($0.60/cup). Tim Hortons, Caribou, and Scooter’s each price their own cinnamon-sugar cold builds a little differently by market, so $6.50 is the same representative chain-café figure this site uses for the Iced Churro Latte rather than one chain’s exact number — the savings gap holds regardless. At 5 of these a week over the site’s standard 48-week year (240 drinks), that’s roughly $1,277/year saved against chain pricing.

    Swaps & Notes

    • Already have churro syrup made for the latte? Same jar works here — no separate batch needed.
    • Want it dairy-free? Swap the whole milk for a plant milk in the cream blend; see Best Milk for Coffee for the tradeoffs.
    • Want the nitro cascade instead of a stirred cream? You’ll need a nitro charger or dispenser — see our Nitro Toasted Coconut Cold Brew for the equipment and method, then swap in this syrup.
    • Prefer less or no sugar? See our Sugar-Free Churro Syrup. Prefer real maple over brown sugar? See the Maple Churro Syrup behind our Ingredient-Honest tier.

    FAQ

Is this the same as your Iced Churro Latte, just renamed?

No — the latte is built on espresso and steamed-then-chilled milk; this one is built on cold brew concentrate with a poured sweet cream blend, the same way our other cold brew flavors differ from their latte counterparts. Same syrup, different base and texture.

Already have churro syrup made for a latte?

Same jar works here — no separate batch needed.

Do I need to make a fresh batch of syrup for every drink?

No — the Churro Syrup batch keeps about 2 weeks and covers roughly 12 drinks.
