Same drink, three ways. Ingredient-Honest is our top recommendation -- Standard and Sugar-Free are the other options.

Uses Sugar-Free Chai Concentrate — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.

    • 4oz Sugar-Free Chai Concentrate (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 1 week in the fridge)
    • 4oz milk or unsweetened milk alternative, steamed or frothed
    • 1 tbsp Sugar-Free Vanilla Syrup (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 2 weeks in the fridge; this is a half-dose, matching the Standard version's method)
    • Optional: 1-2oz brewed espresso, for a dirty vanilla chai

Same black-tea-and-vanilla pairing as our Standard Vanilla Chai Latte, rebuilt from Sugar-Free Chai Concentrate and Sugar-Free Vanilla Syrup instead. Same half-dose vanilla method — 1 tbsp, not the full 2 tbsp.

Make Both Bases First (Just Once)

This recipe assumes you already have a jar each of Sugar-Free Chai Concentrate and Sugar-Free Vanilla Syrup in the fridge. The concentrate keeps about a week; the vanilla syrup keeps a full 2 weeks.

    FAQ

Do I need to make the concentrate and syrup every time I want this drink?

No — each base is its own recipe. The concentrate keeps about a week and the vanilla syrup a full 2 weeks, so this page is just the assembly step once both are made.

How much sugar does this actually save me?

A café vanilla chai carries roughly 40-45g of added sugar in a grande between the syrup base and the vanilla flavoring. This version has close to zero from either base.

Can I make this without an espresso machine?

Yes — that’s the whole point. You only need espresso if you’re making it a dirty vanilla chai.
