Strawberry Açaí Cooler
Ingredients & steps
StandardIngredients
- 1 hibiscus tea bag (e.g. Tazo Passion, or any hibiscus/fruit tea blend)
- 3/4 cup (6oz) hot water, just off a boil
- 1oz (2 tbsp) white grape juice
- 1oz (2 tbsp) açaí juice blend (e.g. Sambazon)
- 1/3 cup (about 2oz) frozen strawberries, thawed and diced small (or fresh, diced)
- Ice (enough to fill a 16oz glass)
Steps
- 1.Steep the hibiscus tea bag in the 6oz of hot water for 4-5 minutes -- brew it a little stronger than you would for drinking hot, since it's about to get diluted by ice.
- 2.Fill a 16oz glass with ice.
- 3.Pour the hot tea directly over the ice -- this flash-chills it fast instead of watering it down the way waiting for it to cool on the counter would.
- 4.Stir in the white grape juice and açaí juice.
- 5.Add the diced strawberries and stir once more. Serve immediately with a straw.

Starbucks doesn’t sell you strawberries and açaí straight — the actual Strawberry Açaí Cooler is built on a proprietary “Strawberry Açaí Base,” a concentrate you can’t buy off a shelf. This rebuilds the flavor from parts you genuinely can buy: brewed hibiscus tea for the tart backbone, real diced strawberries for the fruit-forward middle, and a splash of açaí juice for the name-brand note. It’s also worth saying plainly since this is new territory for this site: there’s no coffee, tea caffeine aside, anywhere in this drink.
Building the Drink
- Steep 1 hibiscus tea bag in 6oz of just-off-the-boil water for 4-5 minutes — brew it strong, since it’s about to hit ice.
- Fill a 16oz glass with ice and pour the hot tea straight over it to flash-chill.
- Stir in 1oz white grape juice and 1oz açaí juice.
- Add about 2oz diced strawberries and give it a final stir.
Assumptions: grande-size drink, national-average café pricing, hibiscus tea bags, white grape juice, açaí juice blend, and frozen strawberries at typical grocery pricing. At 5 of these a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,106/year back in your pocket versus the café version.
Swaps & Notes
- No açaí juice on hand? It’s the smallest-volume ingredient here and mostly a name-brand flavor note — the drink still works without it, just skip it and add an extra splash of white grape juice instead.
- Want it creamier? See our Strawberry Coconut Cooler — it’s this exact recipe with coconut milk swapped in for part of the water.
- Prefer it less sweet? Cut the white grape juice in half; the strawberries and tea carry plenty of flavor on their own.
- Fresh vs. frozen strawberries: frozen is usually cheaper and pre-diced work fine once thawed — fresh is a fine (pricier) swap if that’s what you have.

FAQ
Is this actually the same as Starbucks’ Strawberry Açaí Cooler?
Close, not identical — the café version is built on a proprietary concentrate we can’t buy or reverse-engineer exactly. This rebuilds the same flavor profile (tart hibiscus, sweet strawberry, a hint of açaí) from real, purchasable ingredients, which also means you can see and adjust exactly what’s in it.
Does this have caffeine?
A little, from the hibiscus tea base — hibiscus itself is naturally caffeine-free, but most bagged “hibiscus” blends (including Tazo Passion) include a small amount of other tea or are blended with other ingredients, so check your box. There’s no coffee or espresso anywhere in this recipe.
Can I make a bigger batch for a pitcher?
Yes — everything here scales up evenly. Steep several tea bags in proportionally more water, then multiply the juice and fruit amounts by however many servings you’re making, and keep it in the fridge for same-day serving.
