Same drink, three ways. Ingredient-Honest is our top recommendation -- Standard and Sugar-Free are the other options.

Uses White Mocha Sauce — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.

    Ingredients & steps

    Standard

Written hot. Switch to see the iced version's ingredients and steps.

    Ingredients

    • 2oz espresso (or 1/3 cup strong coffee/moka pot equivalent)
    • 8oz milk, steamed or frothed
    • 1 tbsp White Mocha Sauce (make a batch ahead of time -- it's a fresh-cream sauce, so it only keeps about 1 week in the fridge)
    • 1 tbsp Lavender Syrup (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 2 weeks in the fridge)
    • Optional: whipped cream and a pinch of dried culinary lavender for topping

    Steps

    1. 1.Make a batch each of White Mocha Sauce and Lavender Syrup ahead of time if you haven't already -- the white mocha sauce only keeps about a week, while the lavender syrup keeps a full 2 weeks.
    2. 2.Pull a double shot of espresso (or brew strong coffee) directly into your serving cup.
    3. 3.Stir in 1 tbsp of the white mocha sauce and 1 tbsp of the lavender syrup while the espresso is still hot, until both are fully combined -- same 2 tbsp total flavoring as any other latte on the site, just split between the two.
    4. 4.Steam or froth 8oz of milk to about 150°F and pour over the espresso mixture.
    5. 5.Top with whipped cream and a pinch of dried culinary lavender if using. Serve immediately.

A lavender white mocha pairs our Lavender Latte with our White Mocha — real culinary-grade lavender against a genuinely sweet white chocolate sauce, the floral latte that’s been showing up on café menus (and all over social media) for the last few years. No third jar to build: just 1 tablespoon each of two bases you may already keep on hand.

Make Both Bases First (Just Once)

This recipe assumes you already have a jar each of White Mocha Sauce and Lavender Syrup in the fridge. The white mocha sauce is a fresh-cream sauce that only keeps about a week; the lavender syrup keeps a full 2 weeks.

    Building the Drink

    1. Pull a double shot of espresso (about 2oz) directly into your cup, or brew a strong coffee/moka pot equivalent.
    2. Stir in 1 tbsp of the white mocha sauce and 1 tbsp of the lavender syrup while the espresso is still hot — same 2 tbsp of total flavoring as any single-flavor latte on this site, just split between the two jars instead of doubled up on one.
    3. Steam or froth 8oz of milk to about 150°F (see How to Make a Latte at Home for the full technique) and pour it over the espresso mixture.
    4. Top with whipped cream and a pinch of dried culinary lavender if you want the full café look.
Café Lavender White Mocha vs. Home Version
Café grande lavender white mocha (specialty-menu pricing, tax included)$6.45
Home lavender white mocha (espresso, milk, both bases)~$0.99
    Savings per drink$5.46

Both bases together cost about $3.96 total to make (~$3.24 for the White Mocha Sauce batch, ~$0.72 for the Lavender Syrup batch), and each batch covers about 12 drinks — so a single pair of batches stretches to around 12 lavender white mochas, just plan to use the white mocha sauce side within about a week.

Assumptions: grande-size drink, national-average specialty-menu pricing for a two-flavor combo drink, dairy milk, $16/lb specialty beans or equivalent grocery beans, culinary-grade dried lavender buds at typical specialty-grocery pricing. No seasonal ceiling on this one — at 5 lavender white mochas a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,310/year back in your pocket versus the café version.

    Swaps & Notes

    • No espresso machine? A moka pot or strong AeroPress shot works fine.
    • Only have one of the two bases made? This drink genuinely needs both — if you’re out of one, make the plain Lavender Latte or plain White Mocha instead rather than doubling up on whichever jar you have.
    • Watching sugar? See the Sugar-Free Lavender White Mocha for the same 1 tbsp each method with a lower-sugar build.
    • Careful with the lavender. Use culinary-grade dried buds only (not decorative/floral-shop lavender) and don’t oversteep the syrup — too much reads as soapy rather than floral. See the Lavender Syrup recipe for the exact steeping time.
    • Iced version: use the Hot/Iced toggle above the ingredients to switch — this is also the more popular way this drink is ordered at cafés and shown on social media.

    FAQ

Do I need to make a whole new syrup for this?

No — it uses 1 tbsp each of the White Mocha Sauce and Lavender Syrup you’d make for our plain White Mocha and Lavender Latte recipes, so if you already keep either on hand, you’re most of the way there.

Is lavender actually safe to put in a drink?

Yes, as long as it’s food-safe/culinary-grade lavender specifically sold for cooking or baking, not decorative lavender from a craft or floral shop, which can be treated with substances you don’t want to ingest. See the Lavender Syrup recipe for sourcing notes.

Floral lattes built on a white chocolate base have become one of the most-photographed specialty drinks on social media over the last few years, which has pushed more independent cafés (and some chains) to add versions of it to seasonal menus — exactly the kind of drink that’s worth building at home instead of paying a premium for whenever it’s available.

Can I make this without an espresso machine?

Yes — a moka pot, AeroPress, or even strong drip coffee works. See How to Make a Latte at Home for the no-machine method.
