S'mores Mocha
Uses Mocha Sauce — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.

Ingredients
- 2oz espresso (or 1/3 cup strong coffee/moka pot equivalent)

- 2 tbsp Mocha Sauce (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 2 weeks in the fridge)
- 1 tbsp toasted marshmallow flavored syrup (e.g. Torani Toasted Marshmallow)
- 1 tbsp crushed graham crackers, for topping
- Optional: whipped cream and a few mini marshmallows
Steps
- 1.Make a batch of Mocha Sauce ahead of time if you haven't already -- it keeps in the fridge for about 2 weeks.
- 2.Pull a double shot of espresso directly into your serving cup.
- 3.Stir the Mocha Sauce and the toasted marshmallow syrup into the hot espresso until fully combined.
- 4.Steam or froth 8oz of milk to about 150°F and pour it over the espresso mixture.

This uses the three real s’mores components — chocolate, toasted marshmallow, and graham cracker — instead of one vague “campfire” or “toasted marshmallow” flavor syrup standing in for all three. Our own Mocha Sauce carries the chocolate, a real toasted marshmallow syrup carries the marshmallow, and crushed graham crackers sprinkled on top carry the graham.
Make the Sauce First (Just Once)
This recipe assumes you already have a jar of Mocha Sauce in the fridge — cocoa and sugar simmered into a pourable sauce, keeping about 2 weeks. If you haven’t made a batch yet, go do that first, then come back here.
Building the Mocha
- Pull a double shot of espresso into your cup.
- Stir in 2 tbsp Mocha Sauce and 1 tbsp toasted marshmallow syrup while the espresso is hot.
- Steam or froth 8oz of milk and pour it over the espresso mixture.
- Top with whipped cream and mini marshmallows if you want the full look, then finish with a sprinkle of crushed graham crackers.
The sauce batch itself is a one-time ~$1.30 and makes about 12 drinks — see the full Mocha Sauce recipe. Assumptions: grande-size drink, national-average café pricing for a specialty seasonal/campfire-flavor mocha, dairy milk, a standard bottled toasted marshmallow flavor syrup, and a standard sleeve of graham crackers. At 5 s’mores mochas a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,363/year back in your pocket versus the café version.
Swaps & Notes
- No toasted marshmallow syrup on hand? A few real mini marshmallows, torched or broiler-toasted for a few seconds and dropped on top, gets you closer to the real flavor, though it’s a fussier step than the bottled syrup.
- Want it less sweet? Drop the marshmallow syrup to 1/2 tbsp — the mocha sauce carries plenty of flavor on its own.
- Iced version: use the Hot/Iced toggle above the ingredients to switch — it uses 4oz cold milk instead of 8oz steamed, same convention as every other iced variant on the site.
- Want the blended version? See our S’mores Frappé for the same flavor, blended with ice.
- Want a real torched marshmallow instead of just mini marshmallows on top? Broil 1-2 whole mini marshmallows for 30-90 seconds until deeply golden and set them on the whipped cream before the graham cracker finish — see our plating guide for the exact timing and method.

FAQ
Why not just use one “s’mores” flavored syrup?
Because a single bottled “s’mores” syrup usually approximates all three flavors (chocolate, marshmallow, graham) at once, and tends to taste like a vague sweet blur rather than any of them clearly. Using our own real Mocha Sauce for the chocolate, a dedicated toasted marshmallow syrup, and actual crushed graham crackers gets each flavor to actually read as itself.
Do I need a kitchen torch for this?
No — the toasted marshmallow flavor comes from the bottled syrup, not an actual torched marshmallow. If you want to add real toasted marshmallows on top for looks and a little extra flavor, a few seconds under a broiler (watched closely) or a kitchen torch works, but it’s optional.
Is this the same as your regular Mocha?
No — the regular Mocha is just espresso, milk, and Mocha Sauce. This adds the toasted marshmallow syrup and graham cracker topping on top of that same mocha base.
