Same mascarpone-and-hazelnut pairing as our Hazelnut Tiramisu Latte, rebuilt from Maple Tiramisu Sauce and Toasted Hazelnut-Maple Syrup — real maple syrup doing the sweetening in both bases instead of cane sugar.
A Note on Why This Isn’t a Ingredient-Honest Recipe
We looked hard for a real-food way to make this taste like hazelnut without a bottled flavoring doing most of the work, and came up short — there’s no whole-food substitute for hazelnut flavor at a scale a home kitchen can reach. Rather than stretch our own Ingredient-Honest standard to cover an ingredient it genuinely shouldn’t, we moved this recipe to our Standard tier instead. It’s still a real, tested recipe — real mascarpone, real toasted hazelnuts, and real maple syrup in both bases, same as before — just not one we can honestly badge as Ingredient-Honest. See our Ingredient-Honest standard page for exactly how we make that call.
Make Both Bases First (Just Once)
This recipe assumes you already have a jar each of Maple Tiramisu Sauce and Toasted Hazelnut-Maple Syrup in the fridge. The tiramisu sauce keeps about a week (real mascarpone is dairy); the hazelnut-maple syrup keeps a full 2 weeks.
Building the Drink
- Pull a double shot of espresso (about 2oz) into your cup, or brew a strong coffee/moka pot equivalent.
- Stir in 1 tbsp of the maple tiramisu sauce and 1 tbsp of the hazelnut-maple syrup while the espresso is hot.
- Steam or froth 8oz of whole milk (or full-fat oat milk) to about 150°F and pour over the espresso mixture.
- Top with whipped cream, cocoa powder, and chopped toasted hazelnuts if you want the full café look.
Both bases together cost about $10.88 total to make (~$5.44 for the Maple Tiramisu Sauce batch, ~$5.44 for the Toasted Hazelnut-Maple Syrup batch) — real maple syrup and real toasted hazelnuts push this the priciest of the three hazelnut tiramisu recipes.
Assumptions: grande-size drink, national-average specialty-menu café pricing, real maple syrup at typical grocery pricing, real mascarpone and toasted hazelnuts at typical grocery pricing.
Why This Costs More Than the Plain Extract Version
Real maple syrup and real toasted hazelnuts cost more per serving than sugar or a sugar-free sweetener, so this version’s savings run behind the Hazelnut Tiramisu Latte and Sugar-Free Hazelnut Tiramisu Latte. What you’re paying the premium for is ingredient sourcing, not a cheaper drink.

FAQ
Is this recipe actually lower in sugar than the plain version?
Not meaningfully — maple syrup and cane sugar carry a similar amount of sugar per serving. See the Sugar-Free Hazelnut Tiramisu Latte if sugar content is your priority.
Why is this version more expensive than the other two?
Real maple syrup and real toasted hazelnuts cost more per serving than sugar, extract, or a sugar-free sweetener. It’s still a large saving over the café version — just the smallest of the three hazelnut tiramisu recipes.
Do I need to make both bases every time?
No — each is its own recipe. The tiramisu sauce keeps about a week and the hazelnut-maple syrup a full 2 weeks, so this page is just the assembly step once both are made.
