This leans into a flavor note Baileys’ own Irish cream already has, rather than inventing a new one: retailers describe original Baileys as carrying “vanilla, caramel and toffee” notes, and the brand has released an actual limited-edition Baileys Toffee Popcorn Cream Liqueur with tasting notes of “buttery caramel and warm vanilla… sweet toffee, toasted popcorn, and creamy Irish whiskey.” This latte pushes that toffee side forward on purpose, built non-alcoholic from two syrups this site already has.

Two Real Bases, Non-Alcoholic by Design

This site’s Irish Cream Syrup is already built from non-alcoholic Irish cream flavoring. Combined with the existing Buttered Toffee Syrup, 1 tbsp each, this pushes the toffee notes Baileys’ own flavor profile already carries forward into their own real layer — no new syrup needed.

    Building the Latte

    1. Pull a double shot of espresso (about 2oz) directly into your cup, or brew a strong coffee/moka pot equivalent.
    2. Stir in 1 tbsp Irish Cream Syrup and 1 tbsp Buttered Toffee Syrup while the espresso is still hot.
    3. Steam or froth 8oz of milk to about 150°F and pour it over the espresso mixture.
Specialty Café Irish Cream Toffee Latte vs. Home Version
Specialty/independent-café Irish cream toffee latte (tax included)~$6.75
Home Irish cream toffee latte (espresso, milk, both bases)~$1.08
    Savings per drink$5.67

Assumptions: grande-size drink, independent/specialty-café pricing, dairy milk, $16/lb specialty beans or equivalent grocery beans. This doesn’t include the cost of an actual liqueur bottle, since this recipe is built non-alcoholic. At 5 drinks a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,361/year back in your pocket.

    Swaps & Notes

    • No espresso machine? A moka pot or strong AeroPress shot works fine.
    • Want the real alcoholic version? Stir 1-2oz of actual Baileys into hot coffee and milk alongside the toffee syrup instead — this recipe is written for the syrup-based, non-alcoholic version.
    • Watching sugar? Swap in Sugar-Free Irish Cream Syrup and/or Sugar-Free Buttered Toffee Syrup 1:1.

    FAQ

Does Baileys actually taste like toffee?

Its own retailers describe the original flavor as carrying real toffee notes alongside vanilla and caramel, and the brand has released an actual limited-edition toffee-popcorn-flavored version — this isn’t an invented association.

    Does this latte contain alcohol?

No — it uses this site’s existing non-alcoholic Irish Cream Syrup, the same base every Irish Cream recipe on this site uses.

How is this different from your Irish Cream Caramel Latte?

That drink pairs Irish Cream with Salted Caramel Syrup; this one pairs it with Buttered Toffee Syrup instead — a maltier, less salty-sweet direction.
