This is a real, chain-confirmed pairing: Costa Coffee’s Strawberry Coconut Iced Matcha Latte launched nationwide across more than 2,800 UK stores in January 2026 as part of its first-ever matcha menu line, and Costa’s own description leans on coconut specifically to “soften” matcha for drinkers not yet sold on its bitterness. This drink keeps the coconut-and-matcha core without the strawberry layer. Matcha itself is still accelerating fast — menu items up 30%+ year-over-year, social mentions up over 100% — which is the same momentum that already drove this site’s Lavender Matcha Latte and Maple Matcha Latte.
Two Real Bases, Not a New Fused Syrup
This drink combines two syrups this site already has: 1 tbsp Matcha Syrup and 1 tbsp Toasted Coconut Syrup, split evenly. No new syrup needed.
Building the Latte
- Pull a double shot of espresso (about 2oz) directly into your cup, or brew a strong coffee/moka pot equivalent.
- Stir in 1 tbsp Matcha Syrup and 1 tbsp Toasted Coconut Syrup while the espresso is still hot.
- Steam or froth 8oz of milk to about 150°F and pour it over the espresso mixture.
Assumptions: grande-size flavored matcha latte, chain pricing, dairy milk, $16/lb specialty beans or equivalent grocery beans. At 5 drinks a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,282/year back in your pocket.
Swaps & Notes
- No espresso machine? A moka pot or strong AeroPress shot works fine, or steam the matcha syrup into milk alone for a coffee-free version.
- Want the real Costa version with strawberry? Add 1 tbsp Strawberry Syrup on top of this base.
- Watching sugar? Swap in Sugar-Free Matcha Syrup and/or Sugar-Free Toasted Coconut Syrup 1:1.

FAQ
Is this a real pairing, or did you invent it?
Real — Costa Coffee built its entire first matcha menu line around a coconut-and-matcha-based drink, launched nationwide in January 2026.
How is this different from your Lavender Matcha or Maple Matcha Lattes?
Those pair matcha with lavender and maple respectively; this one pairs it with toasted coconut instead — a more tropical, dessert-leaning direction.
Can I use the sugar-free versions of either base?
Yes — swap in Sugar-Free Matcha Syrup and/or Sugar-Free Toasted Coconut Syrup 1:1; the ratios don’t change.
