Calorie figures on this page are estimates based on typical ingredient values, not a lab analysis of your exact batch — they'll shift with the brand of milk, syrup, or protein powder you actually use. This is a real, named recipe: Combine Good Flavors publishes a “Brown Sugar Mocha” built on cocoa, espresso powder, and a brown sugar syrup — a deliberate, chocolate-forward companion to the plain Brown Sugar Latte, not a one-off. Shugary Sweets makes the same distinction explicitly, describing its own separate Mocha Latte recipe as “the chocolate version” of its Brown Sugar Latte. Chocolate/Mocha is this site’s single most-used flavor (79 recipes), and Brown Sugar was one of the real, overlooked pairings still missing — closed here.

Two Real Bases, Not a New Fused Syrup

This drink combines two syrups this site already has: 1 tbsp Mocha Sauce and 1 tbsp Brown Sugar Syrup, split evenly. No new syrup needed.

    Building the Latte

    1. Pull a double shot of espresso (about 2oz) directly into your cup, or brew a strong coffee/moka pot equivalent.
    2. Stir in 1 tbsp Mocha Sauce and 1 tbsp Brown Sugar Syrup while the espresso is still hot.
    3. Steam or froth 8oz of milk to about 150°F and pour it over the espresso mixture.
Chain Flavored Mocha vs. Home Version
    Chain-size flavored mocha (tax included)~$6.50
Home brown sugar mocha latte (espresso, milk, both bases)~$0.90
    Savings per drink$5.60

Assumptions: grande-size flavored mocha, chain pricing, dairy milk, $16/lb specialty beans or equivalent grocery beans. At 5 drinks a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,344/year back in your pocket.

    Swaps & Notes

    • No espresso machine? A moka pot or strong AeroPress shot works fine.
    • Want it more chocolate-forward or more brown-sugar-forward? Shift the ratio to 1.5 tbsp of one and 0.5 tbsp of the other.
    • Watching sugar? Swap in Sugar-Free Mocha Sauce and/or Sugar-Free Brown Sugar Syrup 1:1.

    FAQ

Is this a real pairing, or did you invent it?

Real — Combine Good Flavors publishes a named Brown Sugar Mocha recipe, and Shugary Sweets explicitly treats its Mocha Latte as the chocolate companion to its plain Brown Sugar Latte.

How is this different from your plain Brown Sugar Latte?

The Brown Sugar Latte has no chocolate at all; this drink adds a full tbsp of real Mocha Sauce for a genuinely different, chocolate-forward profile.

Can I use the sugar-free versions of either base?

Yes — swap in Sugar-Free Mocha Sauce and/or Sugar-Free Brown Sugar Syrup 1:1; the ratios don’t change.
