    Tiramisu Frappé

The BYOB Team5 min1 drink (from a batch of Tiramisu Sauce that makes about 7 servings)$0.71/drink143 cal/drink

Uses Tiramisu Sauce — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.

    Ingredients & steps

    Standard

    Ingredients

    • 2oz espresso, freshly pulled (or 1/3 cup strong coffee)
    • 2 tbsp Tiramisu Sauce (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 2 weeks in the fridge)
    • 4oz cold milk
    • 1.5 cups ice (about 10-12 standard cubes)
    • Optional: a dusting of cocoa powder for topping

    Steps

    1. 1.Make a batch of Tiramisu Sauce ahead of time if you haven't already -- it keeps in the fridge for about 2 weeks.
    2. 2.Pull a double shot of espresso -- no need to cool it first.
    3. 3.Add the espresso, Tiramisu Sauce, cold milk, and ice to a blender.
    4. 4.Blend on high for 30-45 seconds, until smooth and slushy with no ice chunks left.
    5. 5.Pour into a 16oz glass, dust with cocoa powder if using, and serve immediately with a straw.

Our Tiramisu Latte gets its flavor from real mascarpone and cocoa, not a “tiramisu-flavored” syrup — this is the same sauce, blended into a frappé instead of poured over steamed milk. Same jar covers both drinks.

Make the Sauce First (Just Once)

This recipe assumes you already have a jar of Tiramisu Sauce in the fridge — real mascarpone, cocoa, and a hit of espresso powder, simmered into a dessert-style sauce, keeping about 2 weeks. If you haven’t made a batch yet, go do that first, then come back here.

    Building the Frappé

    1. Pull a double shot of espresso.
    2. Add the espresso, 2 tbsp of Tiramisu Sauce, 4oz cold milk, and 1.5 cups of ice to a blender.
    3. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slushy.
    4. Pour into a 16oz glass, dust with cocoa powder if you want the classic tiramisu look, and serve immediately with a straw.
Specialty Café Tiramisu Frappé vs. Home Version
Specialty café blended tiramisu-flavored drink (grande)~$6.95
Home tiramisu frappé (espresso, milk, ice, sauce)~$0.71
    Savings per drink$6.24

The sauce batch itself is a one-time ~$1.35 and makes about 7 drinks — see the full Tiramisu Sauce recipe for the method. Assumptions: grande-size blended drink, a representative specialty-café/dessert-shop price for a blended tiramisu-flavored drink, dairy milk, $16/lb specialty beans or equivalent grocery beans. At 5 of these a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,498/year back in your pocket versus the café version.

    Swaps & Notes

    • No espresso machine? Strong cold brew or a double-strength moka pot shot both work fine — cold brew blends a little easier since it’s already cold.
    • Want it poured over ice instead of blended? That’s just the Tiramisu Latte’s iced build — same sauce and espresso, poured instead of blended.
    • Watching sugar? See the Sugar-Free Tiramisu Sauce and blend it with ice yourself using the method above.

    FAQ

Does this actually taste like tiramisu?

As close as a drink format gets — the sauce carries real mascarpone, cocoa, and instant espresso powder, the same core flavors as the dessert, rather than a generic “tiramisu-flavored” syrup. Blended cold, it reads more like a tiramisu milkshake than the original layered dessert, which is the honest comparison.

Can I make this without a blender?

The Tiramisu Latte’s iced build uses the same sauce and espresso poured over ice instead — a completely valid version, just a different texture.

Do I need to make the sauce every time?

No — one batch keeps about 2 weeks in the fridge and covers roughly 7 drinks across the latte and frappé versions combined.
