Iced Banana Bread Chai
Uses Chai Concentrate — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.
Ingredients & steps
StandardIngredients
- 4oz Chai Concentrate (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 1 week in the fridge)
- 2 tbsp Banana Bread Syrup (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 2 weeks in the fridge)
- Ice (enough to fill a 12-16oz glass)
- 3oz cold milk
- Optional: whipped cream and a pinch of cinnamon for topping
Steps
- 1.Make a batch each of Chai Concentrate and Banana Bread Syrup ahead of time if you haven't already.
- 2.Warm 4oz of the chai concentrate until hot -- pouring it warm over ice flash-chills it and mixes more evenly than pouring it cold.
- 3.Stir 2 tbsp of the banana bread syrup into the warm concentrate until fully combined.
- 4.Fill a 12-16oz glass with ice, then pour the concentrate-syrup mixture directly over the ice.
- 5.Pour 3oz cold milk over the ice and stir gently to combine.
- 6.Top with whipped cream and a pinch of cinnamon if using. Serve immediately with a straw.

Banana bread flavor already lives on this site as an espresso-and-milk latte (Banana Bread Latte); this is the same flavor carried in a chai base instead — no espresso machine required, same as every other drink in our Chai Latte family.
Same Banana Bread Flavor, a Genuinely Different Base
This isn’t the Banana Bread Latte with chai spice dumped in on top. The base liquid itself is different: our Chai Concentrate — black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, and clove, steeped and strained — replaces the espresso-and-steamed-milk structure entirely. The Banana Bread Syrup is identical to what the latte uses, so the flavor itself is the same; the drink around it is not.
Make Both Bases First
This recipe assumes you already have a jar each of Chai Concentrate (keeps about a week) and Banana Bread Syrup (keeps about 2 weeks) in the fridge.
Building the Drink
- Warm 4oz of the chai concentrate until hot.
- Stir in 2 tbsp of the banana bread syrup until fully combined.
- Fill a 12-16oz glass with ice and pour the warm mixture over it to flash-chill.
- Pour 3oz cold milk over the ice and stir gently.
- Top with whipped cream and a pinch of cinnamon if you want the full café look.
Assumptions: grande-size drink, national-average 2026 pricing for chains’ fall chai-and-banana-bread mashup item (the same category price this site’s Chai-Spiced Apple Cider Latte uses, since both are chai-base fall mashup drinks), black tea and pantry spices at typical grocery pricing, dairy milk.
Swaps & Notes
- No espresso machine? You don’t need one. This drink is caffeinated entirely from the black tea in the concentrate — no coffee involved anywhere.
- Want more caffeine? Add a shot of espresso the same way our plain Chai Latte covers making it “dirty” — not part of the base cost/calorie math above.
- Watching sugar? This one’s Standard-tier only right now — a Sugar-Free or Ingredient-Honest version may follow later.
- This is written iced on purpose, matching the real chain item — there’s no hot build documented here, though the concentrate-and-syrup base would work hot with steamed milk if you want to try it.

FAQ
Is this the same drink as your Banana Bread Latte?
Same banana bread flavor (identical syrup), but a different base entirely — the latte is espresso and steamed milk, this is a brewed chai tea concentrate with milk poured over ice. No espresso in this one’s base build.
Do I need to make both bases every time?
No — the concentrate keeps about a week and the syrup about 2 weeks, so you can batch both ahead and just assemble the drink in a couple of minutes once they’re made.
Can I make this without an espresso machine?
Yes — this recipe doesn’t call for one at all. It’s entirely a tea-and-milk drink.
