Honey Cinnamon Protein Latte
Uses Honey Syrup — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.

Ingredients
- 2oz espresso (or 1/3 cup strong coffee/moka pot equivalent)

- 1 scoop (about 30g) whey protein powder, vanilla or unflavored
- 2 tbsp Honey Syrup (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps in the fridge)
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

- 1.Whisk the whey protein into the cold milk in a separate cup until fully smooth, before any heat is involved.
- 2.Pull a double shot of espresso (about 2oz) directly into your serving cup.
- 3.Stir 2 tbsp of Honey Syrup and the ground cinnamon into the hot espresso until fully combined.
- 4.Steam or froth the protein-milk mixture to about 150°F and pour it over the espresso-honey-cinnamon mixture.
- 5.Serve immediately.

Every other flavored protein latte on this site is sweetened with a cane-sugar syrup. This one uses real Honey Syrup instead, plus a dash of cinnamon — a warmer, more natural-leaning sweetness that pairs well with whey’s own mild vanilla base, at a real cost premium worth being upfront about.
The Honest Cost Note
Honey Syrup is the priciest sweetener base on this entire site at ~$0.70/serving, versus ~$0.05-$0.13 for the cane-sugar syrups most other lattes use. That’s real honey pricing, not an error — honey costs meaningfully more per calorie of sweetness than granulated sugar does. This is still a large discount against any café version, but it’s worth knowing this is the most expensive syrup-based protein latte on the page before you build a habit around it.
Building the Latte
- Whisk 1 scoop of whey protein into 8oz of cold milk until completely smooth.
- Pull a double shot of espresso into your cup and stir in 2 tbsp of Honey Syrup and 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon while it’s hot.
- Steam or froth the protein-milk mixture to about 150°F and pour it over the espresso-honey-cinnamon mix.
Assumptions: grande-size drink, national-average café pricing for a honey-sweetened specialty latte plus a protein add-on, dairy milk, $16/lb specialty beans or equivalent grocery beans, real honey at typical grocery pricing (see Honey Syrup for the batch breakdown), whey protein at ~$0.88/scoop. At 5 drinks a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,164/year back in your pocket versus the café version — still a wide gap, even with the priciest syrup on the site.
Swaps & Notes
- Want the same flavor at lower cost? Use our Caramel Syrup or Cinnamon Vanilla Syrup instead — both carry a similar warm-sweet profile at a fraction of honey’s per-serving cost.
- Iced version: use the Hot/Iced toggle above the ingredients for less milk (4oz cold, shaken with the protein, instead of 8oz steamed).
- Protein total: about 24g from the whey scoop, plus roughly 8g from the 8oz of dairy milk — around 32g total (28g on the iced 4oz-milk version).

FAQ
Is honey actually lower in sugar than the cane-sugar syrups on this site?
No — honey is still about 27g of sugar per 2 tbsp serving here, comparable to or higher than the site’s cane-sugar syrups. The appeal is “no refined/added sugar” (honey is a whole, minimally processed sweetener), not a genuinely lower-sugar drink.
Why does this recipe cost more than the other protein lattes?
Almost entirely the syrup — real honey costs meaningfully more per serving than the granulated-sugar syrups used elsewhere on the site (~$0.70/serving vs. $0.05-$0.13). Everything else (espresso, milk, whey) is priced identically to the rest of this lineup.
Can I use a raw/local honey instead of the syrup batch?
Yes — straight honey stirred into hot espresso works fine without making the syrup batch first, though the syrup version thins the honey slightly with water, which some people find blends into the drink more evenly than pure honey does.
