    Cardamom Honey Latte

The BYOB Team5 min1 drink (from a batch each of Cardamom Syrup and Honey Syrup)$1.38/drink271 cal/drink

Uses Cardamom Syrup — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.

Cardamom and honey is a real, well-established home-recipe genre — multiple independent food and coffee sites publish a dedicated “Cardamom Latte with Honey” or “Iced Honey Cardamom Latte” recipe, with a consistent ratio (roughly 1-2 tsp honey to 1/8-1 tsp ground cardamom per drink). It’s a classic Middle Eastern and South Asian flavor pairing, distinct from this site’s existing Cardamom Rose and Orange Cardamom lattes, which pair cardamom with rose or citrus instead of honey.

Two Real Bases, Not a New Fused Syrup

This drink combines two syrups this site already has (or, in the cardamom syrup’s case, was just built for exactly this): 2 tbsp Cardamom Syrup for the lead spice flavor, plus 1 tbsp Honey Syrup as the sweetener — less than a full 2-tbsp pour of honey, since the cardamom syrup already carries its own sugar and cardamom is meant to be the flavor you taste first. This mirrors the real recipes’ own ratio, where honey plays a supporting sweetening role rather than competing with cardamom for the lead.

    Building the Latte

    1. Pull a double shot of espresso (about 2oz) directly into your cup, or brew a strong coffee/moka pot equivalent.
    2. Stir in 2 tbsp Cardamom Syrup and 1 tbsp Honey Syrup while the espresso is still hot.
    3. Steam or froth 8oz of milk to about 150°F and pour it over the espresso mixture.
    4. Finish with a pinch of ground cardamom on top if you want the full look.
Specialty Café Cardamom Honey Latte vs. Home Version
Specialty/independent-café cardamom honey latte (tax included)~$6.75
Home cardamom honey latte (espresso, milk, both syrups)~$1.38
    Savings per drink$5.37

Assumptions: grande-size drink, independent/specialty-café pricing (this flavor pairing is a smaller-batch, home-recipe-and-specialty-menu item, not a chain pump-bottle syrup — same framing this site uses for its Honey Lavender Latte), dairy milk, real cardamom pods and honey at typical grocery pricing. At 5 drinks a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,289/year back in your pocket versus the café version.

    Swaps & Notes

    • No espresso machine? A moka pot or strong AeroPress shot works fine.
    • Want it more honey-forward? Use an even 2 tbsp of each syrup instead of the 2:1 split — the cost and calorie math above assumes cardamom as the lead.
    • Want the baklava version? Add 1 tbsp Pistachio Syrup to this same base and it’s our Baklava Latte.
    • Watching sugar? This is Standard tier only for now.
    • Iced version: use the Hot/Iced toggle above the ingredients to switch — less milk (4oz cold over ice instead of 8oz steamed).

    Recipe Card Summary

    Cardamom Honey Latte

    • 2oz espresso + 8oz steamed milk + 2 tbsp Cardamom Syrup + 1 tbsp Honey Syrup (both made ahead)
    • Prep time: 5 minutes (after both bases are made) · Total: 5 minutes
    • Cost: ~$1.38/drink vs. ~$6.75 specialty café equivalent

    FAQ

Is this the same as your Cardamom Rose Latte?

No — the Cardamom Rose Latte pairs cardamom with rose, and this drink pairs it with honey instead, with no rose anywhere in it. Both use cardamom as a real flavor, just with a different partner.

Do I need an espresso machine for this?

No — a moka pot, AeroPress, or even strong drip coffee works fine.

Can I use the regular Honey Syrup and a plain Cardamom Latte and just combine them myself?

That’s exactly what this recipe is — 2 tbsp Cardamom Syrup and 1 tbsp Honey Syrup in one cup, no third jar required.
