Pistachio Matcha Latte
Uses Matcha Syrup — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.

Matcha and pistachio is a real viral pairing — and it’s worth being explicit that this is not this site’s existing dairy-forward Pistachio Latte family with a matcha base swapped in. It’s built on a genuinely different pistachio base: real shelled pistachios blended into cream (see Pistachio Cream), not the extract-based syrup behind our standard pistachio drinks.
Why This Needed a New Pistachio Base, Not the Existing Syrup
A matcha latte built with the regular Pistachio Syrup would taste almost identical to just swapping the milk base under our existing Pistachio Latte — not different enough from that family to earn its own page, per this site’s own update-vs-new content standard. Pistachio Cream is a real nut-and-cream blend instead of a sugar syrup with extract, which gives this drink genuinely different texture and flavor, not just a different name.
Building the Latte
- Make a batch each of Matcha Syrup and Pistachio Cream ahead of time if you don’t have them.
- Add 2 tbsp of each to your cup and stir together.
- Steam or froth 8oz of milk to about 150°F and pour it over.
- Top with a few crushed pistachios if you want the full look. Add a shot of espresso if you want more caffeine than matcha alone provides.
Assumptions: grande-size drink, dairy milk, culinary-grade matcha and real shelled pistachios at typical grocery/online pricing, a specialty-café price reflecting this trend’s current premium positioning. Both matcha and real pistachios are genuinely pricier ingredients than this site’s sugar-and-extract syrups — we’re not pretending otherwise — but the home version still beats café pricing by a wide margin.
Swaps & Notes
- No espresso machine, and don’t want one? Skip the optional shot entirely — matcha’s own caffeine carries this drink fine without it, same as our plain Matcha Latte.
- Want it more pistachio-forward? Use 1.5 tbsp Pistachio Cream and 1.5 tbsp Matcha Syrup instead of the even split.
- Watching sugar? This one’s Standard-tier only right now — a Sugar-Free or Ingredient-Honest version may follow later.
- Iced version: use the Hot/Iced toggle above the ingredients to switch — less milk (4oz cold over ice instead of 8oz steamed).

FAQ
Is this just your Pistachio Latte with matcha instead of espresso?
No — it uses a genuinely different pistachio base. Our regular Pistachio Latte runs on an extract-based sugar syrup; this drink uses real shelled pistachios blended into cream, built specifically so it isn’t just a reskin of the existing family.
Do I need an espresso machine for this?
No — matcha’s own caffeine carries the drink. Espresso is purely optional here, same as our plain Matcha Latte.
Can I use the regular Pistachio Syrup instead of making the Pistachio Cream?
You can, but the flavor and texture will read much closer to our existing Pistachio Latte family — the whole point of building Pistachio Cream was making sure this drink tastes like its own thing.
