Mango Energy Nitro Cold Brew (with an Honest Caffeine Warning)
Uses Cold Brew Concentrate (Plain, No Protein) — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.
Ingredients & steps
StandardIngredients
- 4oz Cold Brew Concentrate (homemade or store-bought)
- 4oz cold water (brings the concentrate to drinking strength, same 1:1 ratio the concentrate recipe calls for)
- 1 nitrogen charge (one 8g N2 charger in a whipped-cream-style dispenser fitted with a nitro flow-restrictor widget, or a dedicated nitro cold brew maker)
- 8oz sugar-free mango-flavored energy drink (e.g. Celsius Sparkling Mango Passionfruit, or any mango or fruit-forward sugar-free variety)
- Ice, if you want it colder after pouring (optional -- add after, not before, or it disrupts the cascade)
Steps
- 1.Combine the 4oz cold brew concentrate and 4oz cold water in your whipped-cream-style dispenser or nitro maker's reservoir. Charge with one 8g N2 charger per your device's instructions, then shake or invert exactly as its manual says.
- 2.Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes -- colder liquid holds the nitrogen better and cascades more visibly.
- 3.Dispense the nitro cold brew slowly into a chilled glass, nozzle close to the glass, to get the full cascading pour.
- 4.Top with the 8oz mango energy drink, poured gently so it doesn't collapse the foam. Add ice after, not before, if you want it colder.
- 5.Serve immediately -- read the caffeine note below before you make a habit of this one.
Not medical or nutrition advice. Calorie figures on this page are estimates based on typical ingredient values, not a lab analysis of your exact batch — they'll shift with the brand of milk, syrup, or protein powder you actually use. "Ingredient-Honest" and "sugar-free" describe what's in the recipe, not a health claim. If you're managing diabetes, a caffeine sensitivity, pregnancy, or another condition, check with a doctor or dietitian before making a recipe part of your routine. Read the full disclaimer.
This is a real, purchasable trend, not something we invented: nitro cold brew topped with a canned energy drink, Celsius/Bang/Reign-style, the same “energy cooler” caffeine source our Strawberry Energy Cooler family uses. We picked mango specifically rather than leaving the flavor generic, because a specific, checkable product is what makes the cost and caffeine math below actually mean something. This is a novelty/occasional drink, not a daily-habit recommendation — see why in the callout below.
That ~330mg sits close to the FDA’s ~400mg/day guidance for healthy adults — in one drink. This isn’t a “have this every morning instead of your regular cold brew” recipe. It’s built to be an occasional, know-what-you’re-drinking novelty, the same way we treat our energy-drink Coolers — stacking a second full caffeine source with nitro cold brew’s own strong dose is genuinely different from a normal flavored cold brew, and we’re not going to hand-wave that with a savings pitch that makes it sound like a routine. If this becomes a regular thing for you, split it with someone or cut the energy drink portion in half.
The Gear You Actually Need
Same as every nitro build on this site: a whipped-cream-style dispenser (like an iSi Gourmet Whip) fitted with a nitro-specific flow-restrictor widget, or a dedicated nitro cold brew maker, plus 8g N2 chargers. The per-drink math below covers the charger and ingredients only, not the dispenser or maker itself.
Building the Drink
- Charge 4oz Cold Brew Concentrate plus 4oz cold water with one 8g N2 charger, following your device’s instructions.
- Chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Dispense slowly into a chilled glass for the cascade.
- Top with 8oz of a sugar-free mango energy drink, poured gently.
- Serve immediately.
Cost, for what it’s worth: ~$2.21/drink (concentrate, nitro charge, and the energy drink portion) — we’re not running the usual “X per year vs. the café version” savings math on this page. This is meant as an occasional drink, not a routine one, and running an annualized savings number here would send the wrong message about how often to make it.
Swaps & Notes
- Watching total caffeine? Halve the energy drink portion (4oz instead of 8oz) and top the rest of the glass with plain water or ice — that alone cuts the combined total to roughly ~265mg.
- No nitro gear yet? Regular iced Cold Brew Concentrate works the same way underneath the energy drink — you lose the cascade, not the caffeine math, which is unchanged either way.
- Prefer a caffeine-free version of the fruit flavor? See our Mango Dragonfruit Cooler — same tropical-fruit idea, no coffee and no energy drink stacked on top.
- Pregnant, sensitive to caffeine, or on a caffeine-limiting medication? Skip this one specifically — ~330mg in a single drink isn’t a “cut it in half and you’re fine” situation for those cases the way it might be for a typical adult.

FAQ
Is 330mg of caffeine in one drink actually a lot?
It’s close to the FDA’s ~400mg/day guidance for healthy adults, in a single serving — meaning this one drink can use up most or all of a full day’s recommended intake by itself. It’s not a dangerous, one-time-emergency amount for most healthy adults, but it’s genuinely not something to have daily, and it adds up fast if you’re also drinking regular coffee that same day.
Why mango and not a generic “energy flavor”?
Leaving the flavor generic would’ve let us dodge specific sourcing on both the cost and caffeine math. Naming an actual product (a mango-flavored sugar-free can) means the ~130mg figure and the ~$1.33 portion cost above are checkable against something real, not an average of unnamed products.
Why no “$X saved per year” math on this page like your other recipes?
Because this is written as an occasional drink, not a routine one — and running the annualized “5 drinks a week” savings math the rest of the site uses would frame it as something to make into a habit, which works against the caffeine warning above.
