    Irish Cream Caramel Latte (Non-Alcoholic)

The BYOB Team5 min1 drink (from a batch each of Irish Cream Syrup and Salted Caramel Syrup)$1.06/drink239 cal/drink

Uses Irish Cream Syrup (Non-Alcoholic) — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.

    Ingredients & steps

    Standard

Written hot. Switch to see the iced version's ingredients and steps.

    Ingredients

    • 2oz espresso (or 1/3 cup strong coffee/moka pot equivalent)
    • 8oz milk, steamed or frothed
    • 1 tbsp Irish Cream Syrup (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 2 weeks in the fridge)
    • 1 tbsp Salted Caramel Syrup (make a batch ahead of time -- it also keeps about 2 weeks)
    • Optional: whipped cream and a pinch of flaky salt for topping

    Steps

    1. 1.Make a batch each of Irish Cream Syrup and Salted Caramel Syrup ahead of time if you haven't already -- both keep about 2 weeks in the fridge.
    2. 2.Pull a double shot of espresso (or brew strong coffee) directly into your serving cup.
    3. 3.Stir in 1 tbsp of the Irish cream syrup and 1 tbsp of the salted caramel syrup while the espresso is still hot, until both are fully combined.

    5. 5.Top with whipped cream and a pinch of flaky salt if using. Serve immediately.

Irish cream and caramel is a real, direct pairing, not a flavor-logic stretch — Monin’s (opens in new tab) own Irish Cream syrup tasting notes describe it as toffee, caramel, and nut, and multiple bar and cafe recipes pair Irish cream directly with caramel (a salted caramel latte with Irish cream, a caramel creme brulee iced latte with Irish cream). This version combines this site’s own Irish Cream Syrup and Caramel Syrup.

Non-Alcoholic, Built From Two Existing Syrups

Like this site’s Irish Cream Latte, this recipe uses a non-alcoholic Irish cream flavoring/baking extract — there’s no liqueur in it. It combines 1 tbsp Irish Cream Syrup with 1 tbsp Salted Caramel Syrup rather than the plain Caramel Syrup, since the real bar recipes behind this pairing specifically describe a salted caramel latte with Irish cream, not a plain one.

    Building the Latte

    1. Pull a double shot of espresso (about 2oz) directly into your cup, or brew a strong coffee/moka pot equivalent.
    2. Stir in 1 tbsp Irish Cream Syrup and 1 tbsp Salted Caramel Syrup while the espresso is still hot.
    3. Steam or froth 8oz of milk to about 150°F and pour it over the espresso mixture.
    4. Top with whipped cream and a pinch of flaky salt if you want the full cafe look.
Cafe Irish Cream Caramel Latte vs. Home Version
Cafe grande two-flavor specialty latte (tax included)$6.15
Home Irish cream caramel latte (espresso, milk, both syrups)~$1.06
    Savings per drink$5.09

Assumptions: grande-size drink, national-average two-flavor combo pricing (same baseline this site’s own Toasted Coconut Caramel Latte uses), dairy milk, $16/lb specialty beans or equivalent grocery beans, non-alcoholic Irish cream flavoring extract at typical specialty-baking pricing. At 5 drinks a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,222/year back in your pocket versus the cafe version.

    Swaps & Notes

    • No espresso machine? A moka pot or strong AeroPress shot works fine.
    • This is non-alcoholic. The Irish cream flavoring used here is a real, common baking/flavoring extract — the same kind used in flavored coffee creamers — not a liqueur.
    • Want it un-salted? Use the plain Caramel Syrup instead of Salted Caramel — it’ll taste good, just further from the real bar-recipe pairing this is built on.
    • Watching sugar? This is Standard tier only for now.
    • Iced version: use the Hot/Iced toggle above the ingredients to switch — less milk (4oz cold over ice instead of 8oz steamed).

    Recipe Card Summary

    Irish Cream Caramel Latte

    • 2oz espresso + 8oz steamed milk + 1 tbsp Irish Cream Syrup + 1 tbsp Salted Caramel Syrup (both made ahead)
    • Prep time: 5 minutes (after both bases are made) · Total: 5 minutes
    • Cost: ~$1.06/drink vs. $6.15 cafe equivalent

    FAQ

Is there alcohol in this drink?

No. This recipe uses the same non-alcoholic Irish cream flavoring/baking extract as this site’s Irish Cream Latte — not a liqueur.

Why salted caramel instead of plain caramel?

The real bar and cafe recipes behind this pairing specifically describe a salted caramel latte with Irish cream, not a plain-caramel version — Monin’s own Irish Cream tasting notes lean toffee/caramel/nut, and salt is what makes that profile pop rather than reading as flat sweetness on sweetness.

Can I make this without an espresso machine?

Yes — a moka pot, AeroPress, or even strong drip coffee works fine.
