This is a real, officially-published pairing: Nespresso’s own recipe collection publishes a “Christmas Spiced Mocha” built on cocoa and cardamom together, and independent sites (Nezinscot Farm, Cafe Barista) run their own cardamom-cocoa latte versions. Chocolate/Mocha is this site’s single most-used flavor (79 recipes), and Cardamom was one of the real, overlooked pairings still missing — closed here.

Two Real Bases, Not a New Fused Syrup

This drink combines two syrups this site already has: 1 tbsp Mocha Sauce and 1 tbsp Cardamom Syrup, split evenly. No new syrup needed.

    Building the Latte

    1. Pull a double shot of espresso (about 2oz) directly into your cup, or brew a strong coffee/moka pot equivalent.
    2. Stir in 1 tbsp Mocha Sauce and 1 tbsp Cardamom Syrup while the espresso is still hot.
    3. Steam or froth 8oz of milk to about 150°F and pour it over the espresso mixture.
Nespresso-Style Spiced Mocha vs. Home Version
    Chain-size flavored mocha (tax included)~$6.50
Home cardamom mocha latte (espresso, milk, both bases)~$0.99
    Savings per drink$5.51

Assumptions: grande-size flavored mocha, chain pricing, dairy milk, $16/lb specialty beans or equivalent grocery beans. At 5 drinks a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,322/year back in your pocket.

    Swaps & Notes

    • No espresso machine? A moka pot or strong AeroPress shot works fine.
    • Want it more chocolate-forward or more cardamom-forward? Shift the ratio to 1.5 tbsp of one and 0.5 tbsp of the other.
    • Watching sugar? Swap in Sugar-Free Mocha Sauce 1:1. Cardamom Syrup doesn’t have a sugar-free version yet.

    FAQ

Is this a real pairing, or did you invent it?

Real — Nespresso’s own recipe collection publishes a Christmas Spiced Mocha built on the same cocoa-and-cardamom pairing.

How is this different from your Cardamom Honey or Coconut Cardamom Lattes?

Those pair Cardamom Syrup with honey and coconut respectively; this drink pairs it with Mocha Sauce instead — a richer, chocolate-forward direction.

Can I use the sugar-free Mocha Sauce?

Yes — swap in Sugar-Free Mocha Sauce 1:1. Cardamom Syrup doesn’t have a sugar-free version yet.
