Vanilla Bean Crème Frappé (No Coffee)
Uses Vanilla Syrup — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.
Ingredients & steps
StandardIngredients
- 2 tbsp Vanilla Syrup (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 2 weeks in the fridge)
- 1.5 cups ice (about 10-12 standard cubes)
- 6oz cold milk
- Optional: whipped cream for topping
Steps
- 1.Make a batch of Vanilla Syrup ahead of time if you haven't already -- it keeps about 2 weeks in the fridge.
- 2.Add the vanilla syrup, ice, and cold milk to a blender -- no coffee in this one.
- 3.Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slushy with no ice chunks left.
- 4.Pour into a 16oz glass, top with whipped cream if using, and serve immediately with a straw.

Calorie figures on this page are estimates based on typical ingredient values, not a lab analysis of your exact batch — they'll shift with the brand of milk, syrup, or protein powder you actually use. Every other frappé on this site starts with espresso. This one doesn’t — it’s a genuinely coffee-free “crème” build, the same category the big chains’ own crème-line Frappuccinos occupy, made with real vanilla syrup and milk instead of a coffee base.
Make the Syrup First (Just Once)
This recipe assumes you already have a jar of Vanilla Syrup in the fridge — it keeps about 2 weeks and makes roughly 12 drinks’ worth. If you haven’t made a batch yet, go do that first, then come back here.
Building the Frappé
- Add 2 tbsp of the vanilla syrup, 1.5 cups of ice, and 6oz cold milk to a blender — no coffee.
- Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slushy with no ice chunks left.
- Pour into a 16oz glass, top with whipped cream if using, and serve immediately with a straw.
The syrup batch itself is a one-time ~$1.05 and makes about 12 drinks — see the full syrup recipe for the batch method. Same batch also covers the Vanilla Latte and Vanilla Bean Frappé.
Assumptions: grande-size blended drink, national-average chain pricing for the coffee-free crème line. No seasonal ceiling — at 5 a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,298/year back in your pocket versus the café version.
Swaps & Notes
- This one’s genuinely caffeine-free (assuming your milk and syrup are, which they are) — a real option for kids, anyone avoiding caffeine, or an evening treat.
- Want the caffeinated version instead? See our Vanilla Bean Frappé, which adds 2oz of espresso and uses less milk (4oz vs. this drink’s 6oz) since the espresso takes up some of that volume itself.
- Watching sugar? This is Standard-tier only for now. Blend the Sugar-Free Vanilla Latte’s syrup with milk and ice, no espresso, for a lower-sugar coffee-free version today.

FAQ
Is this actually caffeine-free?
Yes — there’s no espresso, coffee, or tea in this recipe at all. It’s just vanilla syrup and milk, blended with ice.
Why does this use more milk than the site’s other frappés?
Most of our frappés use 4oz milk because the 2oz of espresso already fills some of the glass. This recipe has no espresso, so it uses 6oz of milk instead to keep the same finished volume and proper milkshake-like consistency.
Can I add espresso to this if I change my mind?
Yes — at that point you’d essentially be making our Vanilla Bean Frappé instead, which is written specifically for the espresso version (with 4oz milk rather than this recipe’s 6oz).
