Honey Oatmilk Frappé
Uses Honey Syrup — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.
Ingredients & steps
StandardIngredients
- 2oz espresso, freshly pulled (or 1/3 cup strong coffee/cold brew)
- 2 tbsp Honey Syrup (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 3 weeks in the fridge)
- 1.5 cups ice (about 10-12 standard cubes)
- 4oz cold oat milk
- Optional: a light drizzle of honey syrup on top, for garnish
Steps
- 1.Make a batch of Honey Syrup ahead of time if you haven't already -- it keeps about 3 weeks in the fridge, longer than most of our syrups since honey is a natural preservative.
- 2.Pull a double shot of espresso (or brew strong coffee/cold brew) -- no need to cool it first.
- 3.Add the espresso, honey syrup, ice, and cold oat milk to a blender.
- 4.Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slushy with no ice chunks left.
- 5.Pour into a 16oz glass, drizzle a little extra honey syrup on top if using, and serve immediately with a straw.

Our Honey Oatmilk Latte is one of the genuinely popular modern café orders in its own right, not a sugar swap dressed up with a new name — honey and oat milk’s natural sweetness round each other out. This blends the same syrup with espresso, oat milk, and ice into a proper frappé.
Why Oat Milk Specifically
This recipe is written around oat milk as the default, same as the latte version — its natural sweetness pairs with honey in a way that’s part of why this combination caught on in the first place. You can absolutely make this with dairy or almond milk instead using the swap options above, but oat milk is the pairing this recipe is actually built around.
Make the Syrup First (Just Once)
This recipe assumes you already have a jar of Honey Syrup in the fridge — it keeps about 3 weeks (honey’s natural preservative quality gives it a longer shelf life than most of our syrups) and makes roughly 10 drinks’ worth. If you haven’t made a batch yet, go do that first, then come back here.
Building the Frappé
- Pull a double shot of espresso (about 2oz), or brew strong coffee/cold brew instead.
- Add the espresso, 2 tbsp of the honey syrup, 1.5 cups of ice, and 4oz cold oat milk to a blender.
- Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slushy.
- Pour into a 16oz glass, drizzle a little extra honey syrup on top if using, and serve immediately with a straw.
The syrup batch itself is a one-time ~$7.00 and makes about 10 drinks — real honey is the priciest ingredient behind any syrup on the site, but at $0.70/drink it’s still a fraction of café pricing. See the full syrup recipe for the batch method.
Assumptions: grande-size blended drink, national-average specialty-menu pricing, oat milk (this drink’s actual default, priced at $0.66/cup — see the milk-swap tool above for dairy pricing), $16/lb specialty beans or equivalent grocery beans. No seasonal ceiling — at 5 a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,368/year back in your pocket versus the café version.
Swaps & Notes
- Oat milk is the default here on purpose, not just one option among several — see the note above.
- No espresso machine? Strong cold brew or a moka pot shot both work fine.
- Watching sugar? This is Standard-tier only for now. Blend the Sugar-Free Honey Oatmilk Latte iced with ice yourself for a lower-sugar version today.

FAQ
Why is oat milk the default instead of our usual dairy default?
Oat milk’s natural sweetness and mouthfeel are part of what makes this specific flavor combination popular — swapping in dairy gets you a perfectly good honey latte blended with ice, but it’s a different drink than the one this recipe is built around.
Can I make this without a blender?
The iced Honey Oatmilk Latte uses the same ingredients poured over ice instead of blended.
Why does the honey syrup keep longer than most syrups on the site?
Honey is naturally low-moisture and mildly antimicrobial, which is why honey-based syrups generally keep longer in the fridge than our plain cane-sugar syrups — about 3 weeks here versus the usual 2.
