    Glazed Donut Frappé

The BYOB Team5 min1 drink (from a batch of Glazed Donut Syrup that makes about 12 servings)$0.60/drink146 cal/drink

Uses Glazed Donut Syrup — make a batch ahead of time; it keeps in the fridge for a week or two, so you won't need to make it again for every drink.

    Ingredients & steps

    Standard

    Ingredients

    • 2oz espresso, freshly pulled (or 1/3 cup strong coffee/cold brew)
    • 2 tbsp Glazed Donut Syrup (make a batch ahead of time -- it keeps about 2 weeks in the fridge)
    • 1.5 cups ice (about 10-12 standard cubes)
    • 4oz cold milk
    • Optional: whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon for topping

    Steps

    1. 1.Make a batch of Glazed Donut Syrup ahead of time if you haven't already -- it keeps in the fridge for about 2 weeks.
    2. 2.Pull a double shot of espresso (or brew strong coffee/cold brew) -- no need to cool it first, it chills fast against the ice in the next step.
    3. 3.Add the espresso, glazed donut syrup, ice, and cold milk to a blender.
    4. 4.Blend on high for 30-45 seconds, until smooth and slushy with no ice chunks left.
    5. 5.Pour into a 16oz glass. Top with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon if using. Serve immediately with a straw -- frappés separate fast, this isn't a make-ahead drink.

Calorie figures on this page are estimates based on typical ingredient values, not a lab analysis of your exact batch — they'll shift with the brand of milk, syrup, or protein powder you actually use. "Ingredient-Honest" and "sugar-free" describe what's in the recipe, not a health claim. If you're managing diabetes, a caffeine sensitivity, pregnancy, or another condition, check with a doctor or dietitian before making a recipe part of your routine. Read the full disclaimer.

This is the only drink our Glazed Donut Syrup is built for — vanilla and brown sugar, made to taste like a bakery glaze, blended with espresso, milk, and ice into an actual milkshake-textured frappé. Worth saying up front, same as the syrup page: we’re not publishing a hot Glazed Donut Latte. The glaze-and-cinnamon profile reads as an iced, blended treat, not a morning latte flavor, so this Frappé is the only build.

Make the Syrup First (Just Once)

This recipe assumes you already have a jar of Glazed Donut Syrup in the fridge — a 10-minute batch (mostly cooling) that makes about 12 drinks’ worth and keeps for 2 weeks. If you haven’t made a batch yet, go do that first, then come back here.

    Building the Frappé

    1. Pull a double shot of espresso (about 2oz), or brew strong coffee/cold brew instead.
    2. Add the espresso, 2 tbsp of the glazed donut syrup, 1.5 cups of ice, and 4oz cold milk to a blender.
    3. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slushy — no ice chunks left.
    4. Pour into a 16oz glass, top with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon if you want the full bakery-case look, and serve immediately with a straw.
Café Glazed Donut Frappé vs. Home Version
Café grande glazed-donut-style Frappuccino blended drink (specialty-menu pricing)$6.45
Home glazed donut frappé (espresso, milk, ice, syrup)~$0.60
    Savings per drink$5.85

The syrup batch itself is a one-time ~$0.93 and makes about 12 drinks — see the full syrup recipe for the batch method and cost breakdown.

Assumptions: grande-size blended drink, national-average specialty-menu pricing (glazed donut is a specialty/seasonal-style flavor at most chains, not a year-round standard), dairy milk, $16/lb specialty beans or equivalent grocery beans. At 5 glazed donut frappés a week over the site’s standard 48-week year, that’s roughly $1,404/year back in your pocket versus the café version.

    Swaps & Notes

    • No espresso machine? Strong cold brew or a double-strength moka pot shot both work fine.
    • Want it thicker or thinner? More ice makes it thicker and more milkshake-like; less ice (or a splash more milk) loosens it up.
    • Prefer it poured over ice instead of blended? The Glazed Donut Syrup page notes this works fine too — 2 tbsp stirred into hot espresso, poured over ice with cold milk, same as any iced latte on the site, just without the blended texture.
    • Watching sugar? We haven’t built Sugar-Free or Ingredient-Honest tiers of this flavor yet — this is Standard-tier only for now.

    Recipe Card Summary

    • Cost: ~$0.60/drink vs. $6.45 café equivalent

    FAQ

Why is there a Frappé but no Latte for this flavor?

The glaze-and-cinnamon flavor profile reads as an iced, blended treat rather than a hot morning drink — see the Glazed Donut Syrup recipe for the full reasoning. We’d rather publish it honestly as Frappé-only than force a hot version that doesn’t actually taste like the name promises.

Is there any actual donut in this recipe?

No — nothing fried, no dough, no yeast. The syrup is vanilla and brown sugar built to evoke a bakery glaze, the same category as this site’s other extract-based flavor syrups.

Can I make this without a blender?

Not really for the Frappé texture specifically — the blended ice is the point. See the Glazed Donut Syrup recipe’s own notes for a poured-over-ice, non-blended alternative if you don’t have one.
